Common Job Duties:

  • Create new ways to solve existing production security issues with security tools
  • Configure and install host intrusion detection systems (HIDS), host intrusion protection systems (HIPS), network intrusion detection systems (NIDS), network intrusion protection systems (NIPS), firewalls, anti-virus, logging, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), encryption, vulnerability scanning, identity access, and authentication and authorization technology
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments
  • Develop automation scripts to handle and track incidents through Security Orchestration and Automation Reporting (SOAR)
  • Test security solutions using industry standard analysis and compliance criteria
  • Identify and respond to information security tool issues
  • Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities
