A Research team from Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre (DCDC), UK visited BIMRAD on 20th May 2019. Both BIMRAD and DCDC presented their respected research area. Mr. Simon Richard Cole led the DCDC, UK team. Mr. Nils Goran Joachim Isacsson and DA UK in Bangladesh Lt Col Dominic Spencer were also present at the meeting. Director General BIMRAD Cdre Kazi Emdadul Haq and other higher official from BIMRAD were also present at the meeting. *** Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD) and University of Dhaka (DU) has been signed a Memorandum of Understanding to extend mutual co-operation in Maritime research on 05 May 2019. *** Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, NBP, OSP, BCGM, ndc, psc (retd), Former Chief of Naval Staff joined as Chairman, BIMRAD on 10 April 2019 *** The Director General of BIMRAD Cdre Kazi Emdadul Haq, BSP, ndu, psc, BN (retd) has participated as a key note speaker in the “Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD 2019)” organized by the National Maritime Foundation in Delhi, India on 5-6 March 2019. ***

Welcome To BIMRAD

Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development, in short, BIMRAD is established in January 2018. The institute is patronized by Bangladesh Navy. Requirement of a research institute on maritime industry is felt long.  Being the major stakeholders in maritime field, Navy considers it as its sacred duty to establish such institute, through which nation"s economy is benefited and security is ensured.

The aim is to bring all stakeholders onboard, carry out research on maritime sector for development of policy option, enhance public awareness through seminar and symposium and put forward recommendations for the decision makers on maritime strategy for the country.

To fulfill the above aim, BIMRAD is committed to build an independent maritime platform consisting of all stakeholders, maritime thinkers, retired personnel, professionals who would have the opportunity to carryout research on whole gamut of maritime domain especially focusing on the areas concern to Bangladesh.
